DRIVER: SYLAS RIPLEY

Sylas began his racing career at the age of 10 at Richmond Karting Speedway, where he participated in four races, achieving a second-place finish followed by three consecutive victories. In 2022, Sylas ran an undefeated season with 30 wins in 30 events. As well as claiming 4 titles for track and series. He transitioned to the Allison Legacy Series at Wiscasset Speedway, securing a win in only his second race. Over the season, he achieved seven podium finishes out of ten races, including four wins, which earned him the title of rookie of the year.

In 2023, Sylas ventured into late model sportsman racing at Wiscasset Speedway, achieving two podium finishes and several top-five results. Growing up, he idolized his father, frequently attending races to watch him compete. This experience ignited his passion for racing, as he eagerly anticipated race days filled with excitement.

In 2024 at the age of 14, Sylas achieved his first victory in a Super Late Model Race at Oxford Plains Speedway in July. He also secured his inaugural win in the T&L Automotive Modified Race at Wiscasset Speedway during his debut modified appearance at that venue. Shortly after turning 15, he finished fourth in the Oxford 250, making him one of the youngest drivers to place in the top five in the event's history. During the Pro All Star Series 400 Weekend at Oxford Plains Speedway, Sylas triumphed in both Segment 1 and Segment 3 of the competition, winning two out of the three 100-lap segments. Additionally, he claimed victory in his Heat Race and started from the pole position, ultimately finishing third out of 35 competitors overall.

In the 2024 season, Sylas joined Team Hornaday Development, where he received coaching from a driver mentor and media training to enhance his abilities both on the track and in public engagements.

After claiming 2 out of 3 segments in the PASS 400 at Oxford Plains, Sylas and Team Hornaday struck a deal to join forces with Rackley War Racing for 1 event to end the season. They agreed that Sylas would take part in the 2024 Snowflake 100 at 5 Flags Speedway. He showed strong performance, landing in the top 5 during two of the three practice sessions. However, he had to fight his way into the main event from the last chance qualifier, starting near the back of the pack. Sadly, his night ended prematurely when he got caught in an on-track incident with no way to avoid it.
